Faculty Instructors for Fall 2009:  

 

Mindy Krupp, M.S.W., LGSW, LICSW, LCSW-C

As Clinical Coordinator at the Center for Children, Leonardtown and Prince Frederick, MD, Ms. Krupp provided mental health therapy to children and their families.  She represented the agency in the wider community and within the agency, supervised mental health therapists, interns and volunteers.  Prior to her work at the Center for Children, Ms. Krupp was Supervisor to the Program Director at PSI Family Services, Inc. in Baltimore.  Here she provided supervision of clinical staff in the therapeutic foster care system.  She provided orientation and training for new foster parents and supported numerous foster care placements on the Eastern shore. 

 

Ms. Krupp’s background also includes service to youth in group homes and schools, designing, developing and planning curricula in the Welfare to Work Program, and providing psychosocial counseling as well as on-site job coaching to chronically mentally ill adults.

 

Ms. Krupp earned her BA degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville FL and her MSW at the University of Maryland School of Social Work.  She brings to the classroom a deep commitment to the provision of therapeutic, instructional and support services in the field of Mental Health Services.  

 


Roslynn Scott-Adams, MSW, PhD

Dr. Scott-Adams is the Lead Social Worker at Prince George’s Hospital Center in the Behavioral Health Services Department.  She is responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision to the Social Workers within the Department. Dr. Scott-Adams primarily works and supervises the social work team on the inpatient mental health unit, but also provides clinical supervision and consultation to social workers in other areas of the hospital. The inpatient unit serves adults who are diagnosed with major mental health disorders.  Dr. Scott-Adams has written and developed group protocols, staff competencies and provided staff trainings in an effort to promote quality mental health care.  Dr. Scott-Adams also assisted with the development and adoption of a revised treatment perspective for the inpatient unit.  She is also a member of the management counsel for the Behavioral Health Services Department.  As a member of the management counsel Dr. Scott-Adams is responsible for analyzing departmental statistics and making recommendations regarding policy changes that impact patient care. 

 

Dr. Scott-Adams is an advocate for persons who are diagnosed with major mental health disorders.  She has facilitated trainings in the community to eliminate stigma and dispel the myths about mental illness. She also participates regularly in meetings in the community to assist clients with obtaining the necessary resources and support in the community.  Dr. Scott-Adams has a commitment to addressing social justice issues that impact persons diagnosed with major mental health disorders.

 

 Dr. Scott-Adams defended her dissertation in May of 2007.  The focus of her research was on the relationship between authentic living and the perception of stress and self-efficacy in persons diagnosed with major mental health disorders. She also developed the Scott’s Authentic Living Scale, which measures authentic living in persons diagnosed with major mental health disorders.

 

Dr. Scott-Adams taught Human Development as an adjunct lecturer at Bowie State University in the Department of Social Work.

 

Dr. Scott-Adams earned a BA degree in Social Work at Salisbury State University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Howard University. She completed her doctorate at the National Catholic School of Social Service at The Catholic University of America in May of 2007. Dr. Scott-Adams will be teaching SSS 571 Human Behavior and the Social Environment this fall.
