Dear MSW Students,

Congratulations on reaching this point in your MSW program, where you are ready to begin your foundation year field internship. Please read about the Application Process first, and then return to this page to find links to other important information and document(s) you will need to complete.

• Start here -- everyone must submit the Foundation Field Internship Application: Microsoft Word document or Adobe pdf file
  • If you will apply to an agency outside of your place of employment, please write a brief (1 page maximum) statement of interest
• You must submit an up-to-date resume - be sure to include your current enrollment in our MSW Program.
• If you would like to be placed in your agency for your foundation year placement, you have 2 options:
1. Employment-Based Internship Proposal - requires 1 year employment and that you be an employee in good standing
   • Internship = reassignment to another program or department with supervision by qualified MSW other than your work supervisor
2. Work Residency Internship Proposal - requires 2 years' employment and employee in good standing
• Internship = regular job which consists largely of social work duties, supervision by qualified MSW other than your work supervisor and agency approval
3. If you would like to apply for option (1) or (2), you must submit the proposal before we can act on your Field Application.
