Degree Programs

NCSSS offers the Ph.D., M.S.W., and BA programs. Each is characterized by academic excellence, a dynamic learning environment, and individualized attention. All programs promote social justice and the dignity of all people as bio-psycho-social-spiritual beings.

We offer full time and part time enrollment for each program.

Ph. D. Program: Professional MSW social workers considering doctoral program education are invited to contact Dr. Barbara Early, Ph. D. Program Chair, to discuss their questions or schedule an appointment at 202-319-5456 or early@cua.edu.

M.S.W. Program: Applicants are invited to contact Ms. Aileen Worrell, MSW, MBA, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, for more information or to schedule an appointment at 202-319-5496 or e-mail cua-ncsss-admissions@cua.edu

MSW applicants may apply for the 60 credit hour degree program, the 30 hour advanced standing program for BSW graduates, as a transfer student from another MSW program, or for the dual degree program with the Columbus School of Law (contact the law school directly for their application materials).

For those MSW applicants who are interested in a second career or need more information to determine if professional social work is the right choice, we encourage you to apply as a non-degree seeking student and take one course to help you with this decision.

BA/BSW Program: Applicants are invited to contact Dr. Lynn Mayer, Bachelor's Program Chair, for more information about our liberal arts and social work program or to schedule an appointment at 202-319-5479 or mayer@cua.edu. Learn more at http://ncsss.cua.edu/admissions/ugrad.cfm

For non-traditional students returning to school, we encourage you to apply for a baccalaureate degree through the Metropolitan College of The Catholic University of America.  Learn more at http://metro.cua.edu/admissions/
