Eileen A. Dombo, PhD, LICSW is the Director of Counseling Services at the DC Rape Crisis Center. She provides individual, couples, group, and family counseling for survivors of sexual violence and anyone else impacted by sexual abuse. She has conducted many trainings on effective therapy techniques for use with survivors of sexual assault. Prior to coming on staff at DCRCC, she was a volunteer from 1991 to 1994, and did her student practicum for graduate school at the Center from 1995 to 1996.
Ms. Dombo is a graduate of the Doctoral program at the National Catholic School of Social Service at The Catholic University of America. She conducted her dissertation research on models of practice that are effective with changing cognitive distortions commonly associated with the experience of sexual abuse. In addition, she is an Adjunct Professor there, teaching Human Behavior and the Social Environment, Human Development and Psychopathology, Diversity in a Multicultural Society, and Feminist Theory and Social Work Practice.
