Frances Omodio, CSJ, LCSW-C , Class of 1993
As a Certified Clinical Social Worker at St. Luke Institute, a mental health and addictions treatment center for clergy and religious women, in Silver Spring, Maryland, I am challenged everyday to fulfill my vision. This position is the culmination of a life time of preparation. After a successful career in education as a teacher, principal and counselor, I realized that I needed more training in family systems. With the encouragement of the Sisters of St. Joseph Continuing Education Board, I made the decision to attend NCSSS for a MSW as a full time student. Upon graduation in 1993, I was employed part time at both of my field placements; the National Capital MS Society and Alexandria Mental Health. Needing full time employment, I transferred to the District of Columbia Department of Child and Family. One year later I returned to Alexandria Mental Hearth Services as the Coordinator of the Homeless Program and upon licensing, an Emergency Services therapist. This prepared me to follow a call to minister to the poor and those who are marginalized in the Church.
