NCSSS Alumni Association

Prior to the drafting of our Constitution and By Laws in 2002, there is no formal recording of the Alumni Association. However, the story that has been told, and re-told, states that one month following the appointment of Dr. James Zabora to the position of Dean, he was asked to identify an alumni event for the University’s Homecoming program. It was at that time that the NCSSS Alumni Association was conceived.

In 2002, under the leadership of Dr. Marie J. Raber, MSW Program Chair, the NCSSS Alumni Association was initiated.  It became an official organization with the drafting of its bylaws and constitution, which provided for an Alumni Board that would meet on a regular basis, along with the creation of annual events that were designed to attract the alumni body as a whole. The first president of the Alumni Association was Patty Prince, MSW, 2002.

The primary functions of the Association are to act as a liaison between the alumni body and the School, to provide ongoing educational and social/networking programs to our alums, and to eventually raise funds for the School.
