JENNIFER FOSTER, MSW 2010

"From a very early age I knew I wanted a professional career in the human services field. After completing my undergraduate degree, I gained invaluable experience by working with children and families in an array of settings, including child protection and alcohol and drug treatment.

After researching graduate social work programs I decided that NCSSS was the right fit for me.

The faculty and staff at NCSSS were welcoming and they are deeply committed to social work education. The Social Change Concentration sparked my interest during my foundation year of study. My previous work experience had involved a more clinical track and I had a desire to gain further knowledge around advocacy, community organizing, and the formulation of social policies.

After graduation from NCSSS I plan to embark on a career path that will allow me to advocate for the social equality of underprivileged populations, specifically within the arena of child welfare."
