Dr. Cathleen Gray

Dr. Cathleen Gray (M.S.W., Boston University; Ph.D., University of Maryland), Associate Professor

Dr. Cathleen Gray is Associate Professor at NCSSS as well as the director of the Center for Spirituality and Social Work. In July, 2009 she was named as one of the ‘Top Therapists’ in Washingtonian Magazine.  Dr. Gray has been in direct clinical practice since 1968 and has been a member of the faculty at Catholic University since 1975. Her teaching areas of specialty include clinical practice with individuals, practice with couples, and psychodynamic theory. Her area of research has primarily been the psychological aspects of divorce as well as the spiritual aspects of psychotherapy. Dr. Gray has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from DC Metro National Association of Social Workers.  In addition to publishing many professional articles and book chapters, Dr. Gray has engaged in extensive work with the media including print, radio and television.
