Dr. Joseph Shields, (Ph.D., The Catholic University of America) Associate Professor 

Dr. Shields chaired the doctoral program and served as assistant dean from Fall 1996 until Spring 2000. He teaches courses in research methods in the MSW Program and courses in social work research and social theory in the doctoral program. He also serves as a research and planning consultant to various local and national social service related agencies.
