Dr. Mary Jeanne Verdieck

Dr. Mary Jeanne Verdieck (Ph.D., The Catholic University of America) Associate Professor

Dr. Verdieck has a distinguished body of research in two main areas: (1) the evaluation of the services and programs of social organizations; and (2) church-related issues at national and international levels through surveys of specific religious communities or organizations. She recently collaborated on a national research project comparing children placed in foster care with relatives and those placed with non-relatives. Her ongoing interest is in making research methods and skills interesting and relevant to social work practice. Dr. Verdieck served as Associate Dean of the National Catholic School of Social Service for many years. She now teaches primarily in the doctoral program. In 2009, she was awarded the Bruno Damiani Graduate Educator of the Year Award at The Catholic University of America.
