Dr. M. Vincentia Joseph

Dr. M. Vincentia Joseph (M.S.W., Ph.D., Catholic University) Cardinal O'Boyle Professor

Dr. Joseph served as Assistant Dean and Chair of the Doctoral Program for ten years, from 1986 to 1996.  She currently teaches doctoral seminars in Social Work Education, Theoretical Frameworks for Ethical Decision Making and Knowledge Building, and Critique of Social Work Practice Theory.  In the master’s program, she teaches Supervisory Practice and Religion & the Spiritual Dimensions of Social Work Practice.  Dr. Joseph’s research interests include religion and social work practice, supervision/consultation, professional ethics, and organizational burnout.  She has taught and provided consultation in these areas at both the national and international levels.  Dr. Joseph has been active on ethics committees and panels in the National Association of Social Workers.  Recently, Dr. Joseph was appointed by Catholic University as the Cardinal O’Boyle Faculty Scholar.
