Welcome to the National Catholic School of Social Service (NCSSS). You are about to embark on a challenging and transformative course of study. We will do our best to ensure that your experiences meet both your expectations and our educational objectives.
What You Need to Know
Students are not considered officially enrolled in the university until they have both completed registration and satisfied their financial obligation to the university. Please check the Academic Calendar for the final date for registration and other important dates throughout the year.
After you register, you may view your tuition bill in Cardinal Station. Check your bill carefully. Students who do not pay their tuition bills on time or who fail to make arrangements with Enrollment Services for payment are subject to a late payment fee. Enrollment Services offers a monthly payment plan through the company TMS. If interested in a payment plan, contact TMS directly at 1-800-722-4867.

What You Need to Do
Once you have paid your non-refundable tuition deposit and submitted official or final transcripts requested, you will be able to enroll in courses using Cardinal Station. Prior to enrolling in courses for the first time, all students must read and accept the Statement of Financial Responsibility. Instructions for accepting this statement are available on your Student Self Service page.
Please review the MSW Curriculum at a Glance and Program Guide documents for course selection. After registering for classes, you can locate the syllabi for your classes online to identify textbooks for the courses. Books may be purchased online or at the CUA Bookstore.
Forms You Need to Fill Out
If you will be a full-time MSW student, you will need to complete a field placement application to identify an internship. Part-time MSW students complete their field placement application in their second year in the program. To begin completing the field application, please contact Dr. Ellen Thursby in the Field Education Office prior to starting your application.
For federal loan eligibility, please complete the FAFSA and have it submitted to CUA (school code: 001437).
Students interested in taking qualifying exams to test out of up to three of four foundation level courses must submit an application exam to NCSSS by August 1.
